Salman Khan dropped as Thums Up brand ambassador, Ranveer Singh may replace him!

We have been seeing Salman Khan in various advertisements of Thums Up for years but now, Salman Khan dropped as Thums Up brand ambassador.

Coca-Cola India has decided that their brand Thums Up will no longer endorse Salman Khan. Salman has been their brand ambassador for about four years and when his contract expired in September, Salman Khan dropped as Thums Up brand ambassador.

A joint statement released by Salman Khan and Coca-Cola India  says that since Salman is committed to an existing relationship with a daily TV show, which happens to be sponsored by a brand that competes with the Coca-Cola India product portfolio. The statement said “In light of this, both parties have mutually decided not to renew the current contract.”

Reportedly, Coca-Cola India is now in talks with Ranveer Singh, as they feel that Salman was a bit too old for the brand ambassador and Ranveer will suit it perfectly. This decision has come within weeks of Salman’s statement asking to ban Pakistani artists in Bollywood. He had said that it was the Indian government that gave Pakistani artists work permits and so they should not be equated with terrorists, who enter the country on the sly with a destructive purpose.

Whatever the reason be, this is some bad news for Sallu fans!
