Akshay Kumar is having a dream run as far as the Box Office performance of his movies is concerned. The actor, who delivered two back to back hits with Airlift and Housefull 3, is assured of the success of his next film Rustom.
During the success bash of Housefull 3 in Mumbai, when Akshay was asked, if after Airlift and Housefull 3, would he be eyeing an hat-trick of 100 crore films in 2016 with Rustom, he said,“I hope even Rustom does 100 crores at the Box-Office. We have made a good film and I hope people like it. With the kind of product that we have made, I think it will be another 100 crore film for me this year.”
Rustom is a drama based on the real-life case of K. M. Nanavati v. State of Maharashtra. Akshay Kumar will portray a navy officer while Ileana D’Cruz will be seen as his wife. Esha Gupta and Arjan Bajwa also has an important role in the movie. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, Rustom is slated for release on 12 Aug 2016 along with Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro.
