Roy Second Day Collection: Roy shows good growth of 10% on Saturday at domestic Box Office
Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez starer romantic thriller Roy was released on Friday along with MSG -Messenger of God. As predicted by us, the movie got off to a decent start at domestic Box Office. We predicted that the movie would collect around 8 to 10 crores on opening day. We are bang on target with our predictions as the movie has collected 10.4 crores on its opening day.
Despite receiving poor reviews from critics and audience, the movie has shown a decent growth on its second day (Saturday). The collection the n second day saw growth because of Valentine Day Holiday and Ranbir Kapoor’s fan following. Roy second day collection is around 11 crores as per the latest reports coming up.
Roy was one of the most anticipated movies of 2015 because of the presence of Ranbir Kapoor who was absent from the big screen for almost one year. Ranbir Kapoor fans were eagerly waiting for the movie release and it seems a driving factor for big opening at Box Office. Super hit songs and Valentine fever also provided a boost to the first two days collection.

Though the movie got a decent opening at Box Office but the reviews from public and critics has been poor. Most of the critics have penned down the movie stating it as, a dull romantic thriller and mental torture. It would be interesting to see how the movie performs on coming days following such poor reviews. The collection will surely decline on Sunday because of India-Pakistan World Cup match. The real test for Roy will start from Monday. The performance on weekdays will decide the Box Office fate of the movie.
With the collection of 10.4 Crores on opening day, Roy is now the highest opening day grosser of 2015.
Roy is made on a budget of 40 crores (Including Printing and Advertisement cost). The movie should recover its budget quite easily and it would be interesting to see if Roy become the first hit of 2015 which Bollywood is looking for.
