Robot 2 Satellite Rights: The satellite rights of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer Robot 2 has been sold to Zee Network for 110 crores.
Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer Robot 2 is among the most awaited movies of the year. Slated for release on Diwali 2017, the movie has started its record breaking streak with a satellite deal with Zee Network.
As per the report published in Indicine, the satellite rights of Robot 2 (a.k.a 2.0) has been sold to Zee Network for a record-breaking price of Rs 110 crores.
The deal includes the television rights of all languages of the film – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Robot 2 is the most expensive film of the Indian cinema with an estimated budget of around 400 crores. With a 110 crores deal, the producers have recovered around 27% of the total costs.
Starring Rajnikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles, Robot 2 is scheduled to release in during the Diwali weekend. It will be a solo release as Rohit Shetty decided to pull out Golmaal Again which was also scheduled for Diwali release.
Directed by Shankar, Robot 2 is a sequel to 2010 sci-fi film Robot which starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai. Robot 2 is expected to shatter all box office records as the craze for the movie is unbelievable.
Zee TV System will hold the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi satellite television privileges for a moment interval of 15 years. It is the greatest satellite television cope cracked in Indian film history. The first greatest cope was a few months back when Zee grabbed Aamir Khan’s Dangal for Rs 75 Crore.
