In a recent interview with the leading daily, Ranbir Kapoor opens up about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan like never before.
It was always a dream to work with Aishwarya Rai in a movie. I am happy that it has come true because of Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘, says Ranbir Kapoor.
In an interview with the leading daily, when Ranbir was asked about the unusual pairing with Aishwarya Rai, he said, “I’m just glad that people have liked her pairing with me. And I am happy that apprehensions have now been put to rest.”
The actor further explained, “Aishwarya and I play each other’s love interests in the movie. “It’s a love triangle between me, Aishwarya Rai and Anushka.”
When asked how it feels to work with the big actress like Aishwarya, Ranbir promptly replied, “It’s a dream to work with Aishwarya. I was an assistant on the sets of my father’s Aa Ab Laut Chalen (Ash starred in the film) and I was so enamoured by her — it wasn’t just her looks — but because at the time, she levelled with me and acted like a friend.”
The actor further added, “I still have that relationship with her and we are like friends. I can still tell her anything now, like I would back then. We are still the same. There’s no ‘Oh, she’s Aishwarya Rai, the legend.’ I really value her as an actor, as a person and the star that she is.”
Starring Ranbir, Aish and Anushka, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is slated for release this Diwali along with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay. The movie marks the comeback of Karan Johar as a director after a long gap of four years.
