Karan Johar spilled the beans about Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai’s characters in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
The teaser of Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ was released this morning and since then it has taken the internet by storm. It is trending on social media for almost 10 hours now. Going by the teaser, the movie looks promising and everyone is curious to know about the characters of this love, friendship drama.
Well, we already know that Ranbir Kapoor is playing an aspiring singer in the movie, we have some interesting details about other characters. In an interview to Rediff Karan Johar opened about Anushka and Aishwarya’s role in the movie.
Karan Johar was quoted saying, “They’re complicated, without saying too much. And they are immensely progressive characters. I know that Aishwarya has never, ever played a part like this. She plays a poet who isn’t a very good poet, and so she is aware that she isn’t as respected in her community of poets. This is partly because she is too beautiful to be taken seriously and because she isn’t a great poet. She comes from a situation of heartbreak herself.”
The director further opened up about Anushka’s role saying, “Anushka comes from a dysfunctional family. Everyone has a broken hearted situation in some way. I have to say, though, that they are both incredibly strong and complex women characters, while being completely different in terms of character goals. And Ranbir… I don’t know where that floodgate of emotion in Ranbir comes from. There’s a pent-up dam and there are little holes through which the emotion leaks out. One day it will burst.”
Produced and directed by Karan Johar, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is slated for release on 28 Oct 2016 along with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay. (Read: Shivaay Vs Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Which movie will win the Box Office race?)
