After a superb opening weekend with the collection of 93+ crores, Shah Rukh Khan’s gangster drama Raees witnessed huge drop on Monday. The movie dropped by around 66% compared to its collection of the first day (20.42 crores). This is a nominal drop considering the movie had a good extended weekend.
As per early estimates, Raees 6th day collection is around 6.3 crores. The movie should have earned 7.5 to 8 crores after a good positive weekend of 93+ crores. Thie huge drop has assured that the trend is not positive and the movie will find it difficult to stay strong in the coming days.
With the collection of 6.3 crores on Monday, Raees now stands at the total collection of 99.54 crores. The movie has beaten the lifetime collection of FAN, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Om Shanti Om to become the 7th highest grosser for SRK.
Raees is far ahead of Kaabil as far as the clash is concerned but the results are not in favour of the film. It will be a profitable venture for the producers but the expectations were high from Shah Rukh.
Considering the current pace, it would be difficult for the movie to cross 150 crores mark as the trend in not there. SRK is back but not with a bang. While his contemporaries are making 300 crores, he is still struggling to cross 200 crores.
