Review – Shiv (Sushant Singh Rajput) is the quintessential Delhi guy who lives in a foreign country. (Same like Dharam in Befikre). He meets Saira (Kriti Sanon) when he is on a date with someone else and sees Saira in a patisserie. Wow! Doesn’t that reveals quite a lot about his character? Saira starts to reciprocate to Shiv’s foolish antics soon but later on falls in love with him.
Then enters the main protagonist in the story, Zak/Zakir Merchant (Jim Sarbh) who is a liquor baron, gets obsessed with Saira and doesn’t handle her rejection well and hence kidnaps her and takes her to a secluded island.
Soon, Saira starts thinking about how her bond with Shiv seems beyond the transcends of time and decades.
Then there are dreams and prophecies that takes you to past of these three characters (Shiv, Saira and Zak). When the brave warrior falls in love with the princess, does their fate betray them? What is the connection between these three and what future beholds is left to see?
What’s Good – Sushant-Kriti’s crackling chemistry and the music of the film.
What’s Bad – The cliched script, loopholes and the past scenes.
Watch or not? – Raabta stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. Their chemistry is enjoyable for a first time pairing. The music is fantastic, Arijit Singh’s “Ik Vaari Aa” and Atif Aslam’s “Darasal” are a treat. But it could have been better. The past scenes will make you feel bored. One time watchable for sure!
