Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan- The new faces of ‘Incredible India’

After a lot of speculations, it is now official that Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan are the new brand ambassadors of ‘Incredible India’!

This selection of Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan as the brand ambassadors of Incredible India is a result of the Central Government’s decision to discontinue its contract with the previous brand ambassador Aamir Khan. We told you earlier how Aamir Khan has been sacked from the position.

Apparently, Aamir’s comments about intolerance in India and his statement that his wife Kiran Rao contemplated moving out of the country owing to the “disquiet” in India did not go down so well with the government and hence the removal. Though Aamir has vehemently denied being sacked and claimed that his Incredible India contract expired this year and hence he was no longer a part of the campaign.

Senior bureaucrat Amitabh Kant, a secretary at the department of industrial policy and promotion had said earlier that “The brand ambassador must be the best brand ambassador for promoting and marketing India, he cannot be the destroyer of the brand.” Even though he did not take any name, it’s quite evident who he was talking about.

Names of many Bollywood stars and sports personalities came up for the position. Akshay Kumar even expressed his desire to be the brand ambassador. But it seems Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan won that race.
