After collecting 10.02 crores on its first Wednesday at the domestic box office, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo‘ has become the 4th highest first week grosser of all time in Bollywood. With the total collection of 165 crores in 7 days, the movie has beaten the opening week collection of blockbusters like Happy New Year (157.5 crores), Kick (164.09 crores) and Chennai Express (156.09 crores).
After a superb opening weekend (4 days) with the collection of 129 crores, the movie witnessed a huge drop on Monday and collected only 13.62 crores. PRDP continued to drop on weekdays and managed to collect only 12.04 crs and 10.02 crs on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
If the movie continues to perform like this then 200 crore is certainly on the cards by the end of the second weekend. PRDP needs to show healthy growth in its second weekend in order to emerge as a big hit that is currently looking a big task at hand. Made on a budget of 115 crore the movie is already the second highest grosser of 2015 behind Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Do you think PRDP can challenge the lifetime collection of Bajrangi Bhaijaan?
Note – Only the first 7 days collection is taken into consideration to calculate the first week.
