Piku First Day Box Office Collection: Decent opening day with the collection of 5.32 crores as per early estimates.
Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan starrer Piku was released yesterday along with Sunny Leone’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. As expected, the movie got off to a decent start at domestic Box Office. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the movie opens to a decent occupancy of 25% in morning shows. The movie shows good growth in evening and late night shows with occupancy ranging from 35% to 50%. As per early estimates, the movie collected around 5.2 crores on its opening day.
Since, the movie is directed by Shoojit Sircar expectations were good as far as the content is concerned. Shoojit Sircar hits the bulls-eye once again as Piku has got superb rating from critics. The movie is liked by each and every critic with rating ranges from 3.5 to 5 stars. Piku is now the top-rated movie of 2015. The reviews and response from the public are also positive.
Released on around 1300 screens, Piku First Day Box Office Collection of 5.32 crores is a decent figure as the movie is targeted mainly to the multiplex audience. Piku was strong in metros like Mumbai, New Delhi, NCR and Pune.
With such great reviews, Piku is likely to show superb growth on coming days like most of Shoojit Sircar movies. The movie is expected to close the first weekend with the collection of around 17 crores with is a superb figure for a multiplex movie.
On the other hand, Gabbar Is Back takes the front seat on single screens. Akshay Kumar’s masala entertainer is still going strong at Box Office. With, the collection of 60 crores in first week, Gabbar Is Back is expected to have a good run in its second week as this week release Kuch Kuch Locha Hai remains dull on its first day. As per early estimates, the movie collected around 1 crores with pathetic reviews from critics and audience.
