We loved Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s scintillating chemistry in Aashiqui 2 and the hot on-screen couple is now back with ‘OK Jaanu’. While the trailer and promos have us going all gaga over them, we are in love with the songs of the movie too. The music of the movie is composed by A.R. Rahman while the lyrics are penned by Gulzar. Here’s our OK Jaanu music review:
1.) Humma Humma
This remake of a classical number is filled with peppy beats and a rap too. However, the 90’s kid will not like this as they will prefer the original track though it is quite a rage among the new generation people with Shraddha and Aditya’s flawless dance and Badshaah’s rap for a modern touch.
2.) OK Jaanu
Sung by maestro A.R. Rahman, this song will be left like a huge stamp mark on your brain. This song should be on top for your ‘Cheerful Songs List’. Penned by Gulzar, this track is very fresh, vibrant, cute and beautiful track, it will leave you singing “Jaaaaaaaannnnnuu!”
3.) Enna Sona
Music by A.R. Rahman, lyrics by Gulzar and sung by Arijit Singh, could this song be any better? It is a lovely soulful song! ‘Enna Sona’ turns out to be a brilliant track that immediately appeals to you with its emotional connect. The low-key musical arrangements work in favour for this song.
4.) Kaara Fankara
This track is a perfect mix of western beats and musical instruments. A.R. Rahman has collaborated with the ‘Rap Queen’ Hard Kaur and Dinesh Kanagaratnam for the rap portions of the song. These portions fit in organically given the entire song qualifies as a hip-hop and goes in a uniquely diverse direction. A huge thumbs up!
5.) Saajan Aayo Re
It is a classical track crooned by Jonita Gandhi (Breakup song fame) and Nakash Aziz. The song has an Indian classical touch and will be a pick for people who have a liking towards slow musical themed songs.
6.) Jee Lein
Sung by A.R. Rahman, Neeti Mohan and Arjun Chandy, the male voices t=in this track have been toned down pitch wise to seamlessly blend with the music. It gives you the EDM feels. Jee Lein is not your regular Bollywood track and will appeal to a more niche audience, mainly who are familiar with Rahman’s work.
7.) Maula Wa Sallim
This A.R. Rahman composition is on par with his earlier Qawwalis like “Khwaja mere Khwaja” and “Kun Faya Kun”. A great soulful song, it is one of those tracks which you listen when you are stressed and need some soothing music or simply when you are driving along a lonely road.
8.) Sunn Bhavara
An Indian classical number, this song is rich and flawless on the overall feel. Singer Shashaa Tirupati sounds a lot like Rekha Bharadwaj and she does complete justice to the song.
