After the grand success of Bajirao Mastani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next has been in the news for a long time now. There has been a lot of speculations about the casting and subject of the movie.
Well, the things are getting settled now as the ace director has made it official that his next movie will be based on Rani Padmavati. Bhansali’s next will be a period drama about Sultan Alauddin Khilji and his obsessive love for Queen of Mewar Padmavati.
A source close to a leading daily reported, “Sanjay has always loved this all-destructive romantic tale. Alauddin was a genius who was shrewd and ambitious. He was absolutely smitten by Rani Padmini’s bewitching beauty and unmatchable intellect. This film will be about the queen’s courage to fight her undefeated nemesis.”
There are reports that Sanjay is keen to cast Ranveer and Deepika again after Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Ranveer and Deepika are yet to give their nod for the movie expected to go on floors in the second half of 2016. As reported by us earlier, Sanjay has already locked Christmas 2017 for the release.
