Newton Trailer Review: Rajkummar Rao never ceases to surprise us, does it again as Newton!

A superstar in the making, Rajkummar Rao is back with a gripping story as seen in the recently launched Newton Trailer.

Rajkummar Rao plays the role of Newton, who tries to conduct a free and fair election in the villages of Jharkhand against all odds. Newton trailer takes Newton and us deep into the jungles of Indian democracy and shows what it actually takes to make democracy a success in a country like India.

Originally given the name of Nutan Kumar, he names himself Newton in order to avoid being made fun of. Newton is a clerk who is sent on election duty somewhere in the jungles of Jharkhand and that’s where his real story of struggle begins. He is hell-bent on conducting elections that are completely fair, just for the sake of his country. He believes in bringing about the change that everyone talks about yet do nothing.

From the beginning of the trailer, we get to see how big of an idealist he is when he refuses to marry an underage girl. The trailer is full of layers and it shows us just the right amount, peeking our interest and yet not revealing too much. The dialogue “If you don’t change nothing, nothing will change” sums up the whole concept of the story and we are already quite impressed with the trailer. We would definitely be watching out for this movie in the month of September. What about you?

Newton is directed by Amit V Masurkar and it is being produced by Manish Mundra. The movie boasts a cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patil, Raghubir Yadav and Sanjay Mishra. The movie will be hitting the big screens on 22nd of September.
