Madhur Bhandarkar gearing for Fashion 2 in mid-2016 with a different theme and a fresh story.
Madhur Bhandarkar, the famous Indian film director, producer and scriptwriter is gearing for the sequel of his earlier 2008 blockbuster release Fashion. Bhandarkar is very well versed and obsessed(positive manner) highlighting the social issues for an impactful message for the mass.
There were some rumours in the past as well for the sequel but it become more obvious when recently Taran Adarsh, the famous Indian critic and Film trade analyst posted
“Madhur Bhandarkar planning #Fashion2 in mid-2016. Will be a love triangle. Fresh subject. One top actress to be finalised soon”
Madhur Bhandarkar is a highly acclaimed director for posting the most intriguing social issues, those that were left aloof or ignored due to negligence. Bhandarkar won the National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues with his 2001 release Chandni Bar and after that has been no looking back for him. Chandni Bar depicted the brazen life of the Mumbai underworld, including prostitution, dance bars and mafia. Bhandarkar was also awarded for movies like Page 3 and Traffic Signal for Film and direction. His other films include Heroine, Corporate, Fashion and many more.
Fashion was released in 2008, featuring Priyanka Chopra in the lead role as Meghna Mathur, an aspiring fashion model who leaves her small-town to be a supermodel, and the price she paid to be the one. The film also starred Kangana Ranaut, Mugdha Godse, Arjan Bajwa and Arbaaz Khan in supporting roles. The cast also features several professional fashion models playing themselves. Earlier rumours stated that Deepika Padukone might replace Priyanka Chopra in Fashion 2 but it’s evident that the star cast is yet to be finalised
As stated by Taran, the sequel would be a love triangle, a fresh story all together hence we look forward to something not replicating Fashion(2008) but something that will be an epitome of inspiration and entertainment. Well, 2016 has to bring a lot and we eagerly await its arrival.
