Renowned director Karan Johar who directed big names from Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan stated recently to the media that he can’t direct himself.
He is ready for the release of his new film Bombay Velvet co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma says, “I will never direct myself. I can’t be my own liability. I am open to offers. I don’t have a delusion that I can do lead roles, but good supporting role I will do.”
Johar accepted to be a part of Anurag Kashyap’s film Bombay Velvet in a negative role as till now nobody offers him a negative role. “My character in the film is manipulative. When Anurag came to me with this film, I loved the role. When he told me he was considering Nasseruddin Shah for this role, it acted as an added pressure. I thought nobody will offer me a negative role in my life so I thought I should take it. I hope it works out”, the ace director stated.
So, it will be very interesting to see Karan’s acting as he already made us impressed with his direction. While, it is an official debut film of the 43-year-old. But he has already appeared in blockbuster films Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge as a friend of SRK.
