Kabali 1st Day Collection: Kabali beats Bahubali to become the top opening day grosser in India as well as worldwide.
As expected, Rajinikanth and Radhika Apte starrer Kabali sets the Box Office on fire on its opening day. Released on around 3000 screens in India, the movie has taken an earth-shattering opening. As per the trade reports shared by Box Office India, Kabali 1st day collection is 47.2 crores (nett). This is the highest opening day nett collection registered by an Indian movie. Kabali 1st Day Collection: Occupancy in South India

The movie registered 100% occupancy in Tamil Nadu. It is probably the first time we have seen a movie going house full across the state. Kabali has beaten the opening day record of Bahubali to emerge as a top opening day grosser in Tamil Nadu. In Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, the occupancy was in the range of 80% to 90%. Tamil Nadu: 21.5 crores (highest ever), Nizam/ Andhra: 11 crores, Mysore/Karnataka: 6.2 crores, Kerala: 3.5 crores.

Kabali 1st Day Collection: Occupancy in North India

Not only in South India, Kabali fever was high in North India as well. The movie opened to occupancy of around 40% giving tough competition to Sultan and Madaari. As per the early estimates, Kabali collected 3 crores on its opening day in North India. This is a really good number for a South-Indian movie. Kabali’s opening day collection is second highest after Bahubali (5.15 crores).

Released on record 450 screens in USA, Kabali collected $2M from the premier shows on Thursday in the USA. The movie has beaten the record Salman Khan’s Sultan($.78 million) and S.S. Rajamauli’s Bahubali($1.3 million). Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:

With the first day worldwide collection of around 87 crores, Kabali becomes the highest opening day grosser of all time. The movie has beaten the opening day collection of Bahubali (65 crores).
