Janatha Garage 1st, 2nd Day Collection: Junior NTR and Mohanlal starrer Janatha Garage got off to a tremendous opening worldwide, grosses 41 crores on opening the day.
As expected, Junior NTR and Mohanlal starrer Janatha Garage got off to a superb opening worldwide. As per official numbers released, Janatha Garage earned over Rs 34 crore at the worldwide Box office on the first day and thus become the biggest opener for Junior NTR and Mohanlal. With the first day gross worldwide collection of 41 crores, Janatha Garage has become the biggest Tollywood opener of 2016 and the second biggest opener of all time after Baahubali.
Janatha Garage was one of the most anticipated Telugu movies of 2016. It has created tremendous buzz before release thanks to the superb trailer and big names associated with it. The movie was released on over 2000 screens worldwide, that includes 1200 screens of Telugu states- Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, 480 screens of Kerala & Karnataka, 150 screens of rest India, 200 screens of USA and 197 screens of other international markets.
The movie opened to tremendous response registering an occupancy of around 90% in Andhra Pradesh-Telangana. Janatha Garage collected 20.49 crores from Andhra and Telangana. From Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, it has reportedly earned around 6 crores.
Talking about the overseas collections, the movie earned 3.76 crores at the U.S. box office in the previews on 31 Aug 2016. The worldwide opening day collection of Janatha Garage is 34.82 crores.
Janatha Garage has become the biggest opening day grosser for Junior NTR, beating the record of his previous release Nannaku Prematho, which grossed Rs 24.45 crores.
Janatha Garage has become the biggest Tollywood opener of 2016 beating Sardaar Gabbar Singh and Brahmotsavam which grossed Rs. 40 crores and Rs. 30 crores respectively at the worldwide box office on their opening day.
After a record-breaking opening day, the movie witnessed big drop on Friday. The movie was severely affected by Bharat bandh and managed to earn only 5.1 crores from Andhra and Telangana. While the figures from other centres are yet to be reported, things aren’t looking good. As per our estimates, the second day worldwide collection of the movie will be around 13 crores. The movie is expected to take advantage of five days extended weekend.
The movie expected to remain strong in the coming days as the WOM from the audience is positive. The reviews have been positive and the movie is expected to cross the 100 crores mark by the end of the first weekend.
