Imtiaz Ali’s Jab Harry Met Sejal has emerged as one of the biggest flops of the year. Shah Rukh Khan fans had huge expectations from the film but it has disappointed them big time. After an average opening weekend with the collection of 45.75 crores, the movie saw a huge drop on Monday despite Rakshbandhan holiday. It earned just 7.15 crores on Monday. After a huge drop of 55% on Monday, Jab Harry Met Sejal literally crashed on Tuesday. This kind of trend clearly suggests that the film has been totally rejected by the audience. Jab Harry Met Sejal is on the verge to become of the biggest flops of the year. While everyone was predicting it to cross at least 150 crores, the movie is now struggling to cross 80 crores mark.
Jab Harry Met Sejal 5th Day Box Office Collection: Way Ahead
With the collection of 3 crores on Tuesday, the total collection of JHMS after five days stands at 55.9 crores. In the best case, the first week collection will be around 62 crores. From next week, the movie will continue to struggle as Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ will take a huge chunk of screens.
With the current trend, it seems that the movie will find it difficult to even cross 80 crores at the domestic box office. Made on a budget of 80 crores, the movie needs to earn 140 crores to be in a safe zone which is a distant dream now. Jab Harry Met Sejal is SRK’s biggest flop in the recent years. Even last year release, FAN managed to earn 85 crores.
Shah Rukh Khan is going through the worst phase of his career and the debacle of JHMS has only worsened the situation. He hasn’t signed any other film except Anand L Rai’s next which is slated for release on Christmas 2018. It’s high for Shah Rukh to come up with some good movies as his contemporaries, Aamir, Salman and Akshay are having a great time at the box office.
