Actor Riteish Deshmukh’s Lai Bhaari is the highest Marathi grosser film now. The actor, who is in since a long time seems to have finally emerged as a winner. With super hit movies back to back like Housefull, Housefull 2, Grand Masti, Humshakals , Ek Villian and now Lai Bhaari, the actor has evolved from comic role to negative role to action role. Lai Bhaari has roped in 33 crore at Box Office to become the highest grossing Marathi movie.
Riteish’s comic timing has always been appreciated. Even though Humshakals was slammed for its lame jokes and flawed script, Riteish was applauded for his comic timing. The actor was also seen in sex comedies Kya Kool Hai Hum and Kya Super Cool Hai Hum.
Speaking of his Marathi venture, the actor’s production Balak Palak and Yellow had garnered huge positive response. Now Lai Bhaari has emerged as the highest Marathi grosser surpassing the super hit Time Pass.
Filmmaker Ravi Jadhav of Time Pass says, “I am really happy that ‘Lai Bhaari’ is doing so well. After ‘Duniyadari’ I am sure that it will break the record of ‘Timepass’ as well and become the highest grossing Marathi films till date. I look at it positively. I will have bigger targets set for ‘Timepass 2’.”
Lai Bhaari was released on 11th July, 2014 and despite heavy rains the cinema halls were houseful. The film was action packed with excellent one liner dialogues and was released in English subtitles for non-Marathi audience. Wife Genelia Deshmukh too made a special appearance in LaI Bhaari. Salman Khan too made a cameo in the movie as Salman Bhau which managed to attract the audience .
The actor will be seen doing a cameo in Akshay Kumar-Tamannah Bhatia starrer ‘Entertainment‘ which is set to release tomorrow. Riteish and Akshay have worked together in Housefull series direcetd by Sajid Khan. They share good rapport and Akshay specially roped in Riteish for the cameo.
