Hasee Toh Phasee Movie Review – Realistic Romance At Its Best

Hasee Toh Phasee released this Friday (February 07) on a perfectly fit weekend just before valentines, but does it finds itself labeled as Valentines’ romance ?

After seeing the film, I can say that  it is worth watching because of a fresh and different presentation of romance from some real characters. This is even if  it has some glitches with it. Parineeti Chopra shines in every frame and dominates her co-star throughout the film. She successfully proves yet again that she is one of the finest actresses in the current time.

Let’s dig a little deeper with our Hasee Toh Phasee Movie Review.

Story and Direction:

The plot is very straight which ends up in a love triangle. Nikhil (Sidharth Malhotra) meets Karishma (Adah Sharma) and both fall in love. Nikhil comes across Meeta (Parineeti Chopra) one day, who is the sister of Karishma. She has been abandoned by her parents due to her strange and trouble-making attitude. Soon, She starts liking Nikhil and tells him about her feelings but Nikhil rejects as he loves Karishma very much. The story moves ahead from here and where it reaches finally is the climax of the film.

As it is director Vinil Mathew’s debutant film, the direction is average. The plot lacks uniqueness and has few loopholes too but still the movie scores well due to some beautifully crafted scenes involving Siddharth and Parineeti which are very real and simple. The romance shown between them will surely touch you if are fed up of same old and stale romantic formula in earlier films.

Character Performances

Siddharth Malhotra has done just one flick before this yet looks very impressive and strong. His acting skills are good and fits well in his character.

Parineeti is terrific and comes out as a winner as she never looses your attention from the screen with her mesmerizing facial expressions and natural acting skills.

Adah Sharma is average and does have scope of improvements. Sharat Saxena is very brilliant with his funny and humorous look while Manoj Joshi and Neena Kulkarni have provided good support in the movie. Manoj Joshi has is very impactful in his limited screen space.

Music

Hasee Toh Phasee has beautiful tunes if not brilliant. Hasee Toh Phasee’s ‘Zehnaseeb‘ is a lovely track and addictive. Read more on music for Hasse Toh Phasee here : Hasee Toh Phasee Music Review.

Punjabi Wedding Song‘ and ‘Shake It Like Shammi‘ are good foot tapping numbers. ‘manchala‘ is also nice which comes towards the climax while ‘Drama Queen’ appears in the rolling ending credits.

Watch it for :

Watch it for some wonderful time with your special someone, Parineeti’s act and good music

Skip Hasee Toh Phasee for :

If you are a Aamir Khan fan and easily notice flaws, imperfections. Also skip if you are no love person.

Hasee Toh Phasee Movie Review Verdict

Well Hasee Toh Phasee has few loop-holes yet it does comes out well. Ironical though it may sound but the incomplete picturization and abrupt shifts of gears with unclean music timings makes it more realistic than a blissful romance. Go for it if you like realistic romance with realistic characters.
