Gori Tere Pyaar Mein Review

Alas! If only Punit Malhotra would have given the story as much of time as we reviewers give in writing Gori Tere Pyaar Mein review, It would have been a better movie. The Director/Story Writer must grow up from his earlier ventures like Ekk Main aur Ekk Tu. Not only does he fails this time, it is a crash landing for him and entire team of Gori Tere Pyaar Mein

Let’s dig a little deeper and understand what does Gori Tere Pyaar Mein offers !

The Script & ScreenPlay

The outline message and bigger picture which GTPM carries is really great, but the dialogues, editing, screenplay, direction, story everything unites and ruins it all together. GTPM is actually about two people living in opposite phases of life crossing path and falling in love. The love changing the unfocused person to be a better soul and during the process the transformation helps giving life a larger meaning in form of social service.

But it did not happens this way, Puneet messes it up and churns out a facebook help pleading campaign form of social service with only candy floss looks. The element of romanticism is also lost somehow. Movie takes entire first half for plot setting. Sriram(Imran Khan) is a south Indian brahmin spoilt guy who crosses the path with Karan Johar’s version of social worker Dia (Kareena Kapoor Khan) and falls in love. He spills out his love life in front of Vasudha (Shraddha Kapoor), a would be match for Sriram. But Sriram decides to be a runaway bride for both himself and Vasudha’s sake, as she has her heart somewhere else too. He then literally tries to build a bridge to bridge Dia’s heart in. Rest is all predictable.

Puneet makes sure things does not go as smoothly as plan and tries everything wrong to make you leave the movie in between. However the second half of the movie is better than the first. Having said that it doesn’t proves that it is fit for watching. Second Half is just above the bearable threshold.

Actors & Performance

Kareena is good but not dressed or seems a perfect fit in for the role. The setup also puts Imran Khan in a bizarre role, in no ways does he looks like a South Indian Tamilian. Imran’s acting looks very ordinary. Shraddha Kapoor looks ok.

What to watch it for ?

Good Music with average presentations might motivate you. The only other reason you would be watching Kareena’s GTPM is you desperately need a romantic comedy.

Why give it a miss ?

Nothing is great about the movie. It seems more like a mediocre version of Ekk main aur Ekk tu. Having said that, we must also remember, even Ekk main aur Ekk tu was also not a remarkable flick. Your expectations from the movie will definitely be trashed hard, so it is better to give it a miss.
