Fitoor Movie Poster

Fitoor Critics Review – Fitoor is let down by its slow pace, poor editing. The movie is nothing else than a visual and musical delight.

Aditya Roy Kapur, Katrina Kaif, and Tabu starrer Fitoor is in theaters now. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Fitoor is an adaptation of Charles Dicken’s ‘Great Expectations’. The reviews have started to come and as expected the movie is not everyone’s cup of tea. Fitoor is meant for the classy audience only and will surely be thrashed in thrashed in mass centers and small cities. Let’s read how the critics rated and reviewed Fitoor.

Fitoor Movie Review – Critics Reviews and Rating

Fitoor movie review by Shalini Langer from The Indian Express – Abhishek Kapoor, who gave us a quite remarkable and solidly middle-class Kai Po Che, appears to know what he is doing. ‘Inspiration’ Charles Dickens is just the first casualty. Fitoor spares no one, not Kashmir, not Delhi, not London, not Kashmiris, and not even poor Pakistan, which somehow finds its way into this tale essentially about love traversing social divides.

Fitoor movie review by Saibal Chatterjee from NDTV – Fitoor is much more an ode to love, longing and loss than just another boy-meets-girl romance propped up by routine narrative tropes. Do not expect great momentum from Fitoor. It has its share of slow-moving passages. There is so much to admire in Fitoor that it is easy not to be put off by its ponderous pace and lack of contextual detailing. Go for it because there might not be too many better films than Fitoor this year.

Fitoor movie review by Surabhi Redkar from Koimoi – Fitoor is a film that looks magical, has impressive performances, yet lacks ‘wow’ factor. This love story is not everyone’s cup of tea and hence those with artsy tastes may like it. I am going with a 2.5/5 for the film.

Fitoor movie review by Sneha May Francis from Emirates 24|7– Even a line hinting at the political situation in Kashmir is strangely altered in the movie. In the trailer, it’s Kashmir, but in the movie, it’s Firdaus!‘Great Expectations’ is an ambitious story to adapt to Bollywood, no doubt, but one that Abhishek has wasted.

Fitoor movie review by Manjusha Radhakrishnan from Gulf News– There are moments in Fitoor which are brilliant, but they are few and far between. But what elevates the film greatly is music composer Amit Trivedi’s haunting score. His potent music makes the young lovers’ yearning real and legitimate. Watch this if you want to see a visually stunning piece of filmmaking, but if you are looking for an intense love story, you are barking up the wrong chinar tree.

Fitoor movie review by Ananya Bhattacharya from India Today-Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapur and Tabu’s Fitoor is devastatingly beautiful, thanks to director Abhishek Kapoor’s portrayal of Kashmir in it. However, underneath all the surreal beauty, this adaptation of Charles Dickens’s Great Expectations falls short of fulfilling the great expectations people had from it.

Fitoor movie review – Final words
Fitoor is not for everyone. The movie is let down by its slow pace. The movie is nothing else than a visual and musical delight. Watch it for the scenic beauty of Kashmir and mind blowing performance by Tabu.
Average Rating: 2.5 stars
