Dishoom Music Review and Soundtrack- A bit too much of noise for six songs!

The complete soundtrack of Dishoom is out now. With the music composed by Pritam, there are six tracks in the album, out of them two being revamped versions of two other songs. Here is our Dishoom music review-

1. Sau Tarah Ke

The high-on-energy dance number is sung by Jonita Gandhi and Amit Mishra. The lyrics of the song are written by Kumaar. Sau Tarah Ke has a middle-eastern feel to it and will get your adrenaline pumping.

2. Toh Dishoom

The second song titled as Toh Dishoom is a rap song in the voices of Raftaar and Shahid Mallya. It’s an energetic, groovy rap number that you are definitely going to enjoy listening to. With the funny lyrics by Mayur Puri, this song brings in a fresh change from the usual rap songs we hear these days.

3. Jaaneman Aah

Jaaneman Aah is the promotional track from Dishoom featuring Varun Dhawan and the super-hot Parineeti Chopra in the video. The song started off like Afghan Jalebi and ended up like Dhating Naach. The lyrics by Mayur Puri are rather disappointing and the song also gets a bit boring after a while. Antara Mitra and Aman Trikha tried their best but could not save the song, it is just another item number.

4. Ishqa

Ishqa is the much-needed romantic and catchy song that we see in almost all soundtracks these days. Pritam has given the song a basic Arabic tune and singers Abhijeet Sawant, Antara Mitra have done an okay job. The lyrics are a disappointment once again.

5. Sau Tarah Ke (Revisited)

For the revisited version of Sau Tarah Ke, Abhijeet Sawant and Aditi Singh Sharma get behind the mike. What the composer has done here is that he got some experienced singer on board for the same song. Thought is seems a waste of their time and our time as well. Aditi’s voice suits the songs tone but Abhijeet appears to be a little out of place.

6. Jaaneman Aah (Revisited)
Unlike the revisited version of Sau Tarah Ke, the revisited version of Jaaneman Aah has the same female singer Antara Mitra but brings Nakash Aziz on board. This version is even worst than the original.

Here is the full jukebox of the songs from Dishoom-

Dishoom Music Review and Soundtrack: Our final verdict: Directed by Rohit Dhawan, Dishoom is an out and out action movie. Taking this into consideration, the songs seem suitable for the story-line, maybe they will help in keeping up the pace. But from a listeners point of view, most of the songs are just noise. Our pick of the lot would be Toh Dishoom and Sau Tarah Ke.

Our Rating: 2.5 Stars
