Finally, the official first-day collection of Dilwale is out and it’s time to compare the opening day collection of SRK’s last three big releases, Dilwale, Happy New Year and Chennai Express.
Chennai Express as we all know is the highest grosser for SRK with the collection of 227 crores. Released on 3650 screens, the movie collected 33.12 crores on its opening day. Chennai Express was released on Eid holiday which is considered one of the safest release date.
Happy New Year was released on 24 Oct 2014. Like Chennai Express, Happy New Year was also a holiday release (Diwali). The movie collected record 44.97 crores on its opening day. After a superb opening weekend with the collection of 108 crores, the movie bombed at the Box Office because of poor reviews and WOM.
Dilwale was released yesterday along with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starer Bajirao Mastani. Released on around 3000 screens, Dilwale collected 21 crores on its opening day.
