Two big Bollywood movies- Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani have finally drawn the first blood at Box Office today. While Bajirao Mastani looks a strong film with lots of ‘Cinema’, Dilwale will appeal more because of better ‘Bollywood’, peripheral drama and SRK-Kajol’s eternal chemistry on screen. Dilwale had already performed well in advance booking, due to SRK’s craze and blind fan following coupled with five days of the pre-booking window before the release. Dilwale saw an occupancy of around 70% on its opening day which is more than decent considering a working Friday. The movie is performing exceptionally well in West Bengal, Mumbai, Andhra, East Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. It looks like that Rohit Shetty’s big fat entertainer is all set to create new benchmarks at the domestic Box Office.
Bajirao Mastani Opening Day Report
Despite stiff competition with SRK’s Dilwale, Bajirao Mastani opened to decent occupancy of around 40% in the morning shows. As the day progressed, the movie saw good growth in occupancy in the evening and late night shows. The reviews have been superb, and it seems that the movie will gain momentum in coming days. The movie has an excellent hold in Maharashtra and Gujarat circuits while other circuits remain average. In metros, Dilwale remains the first choice for the youngsters which has undoubtedly affected Bajirao Mastani on opening day.

Dilwale is released on 3000+ screens and Bajirao Mastani on around 2200 screen. This makes the playground uneven, so Bajirao Mastani has to fight harder in this battle.
