Dilwale 8th Day Collection: Struggle continues for SRK and Kajol starer Dilwale as the movie falls flat on 2nd Friday despite Christmas holiday.

Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale is struggling at the domestic Box Office. After registering the 3rd highest opening week of 2015 with the collection of 102.65 crores, the movie falls flat on its second Friday at the domestic Box Office. As per official reports, Dilwale 8th day collection is 8.11 crores. This is a big drop considering the movie had a good opening week and yesterday was a big holiday on behalf of Christmas. With 8.16 crores on second Friday, Dilwale now stands at the total collection of 110.76 crores.

Dilwale Box Office Collection

Dilwale 1st Day Collection: 21 crores (3rd highest of 2015)
Dilwale 2nd Day Collection: 20.09 crores
Dilwale 3rd Day Collection: 24 crores
Dilwale 1st weekend collection: 65.09 crores (3rd Highest of 2015)
Dilwale 4th Day Collection: 10.09 crores
Dilwale 5th Day Collection: 9.42 crores
Dilwale 6th Day Collection: 8.79 Crores
Dilwale 7th Day Collection: 9.26 crores
Dilwale 1st Week Collection: 102.65 crores (3rd Highest of 2015)
Dilwale 8th Day Collection: 8.11 crores
Dilwale Total Collection: 110.76 crores

In its first week, Dilwale was hugely affected by its clash with Bajirao Mastani. There is a big drop in the screens this week as the reviews were not good and Hollywood blockbuster Star Wars Awaken released this week. Dilwale will continue to struggle from now as Bajirao Mastani is performing exceptionally well at the Box Office. Bajirao Mastani collected 13 crores on its 8th day which is 67% more than Dilwale.

With 110.76 crores, Dilwale is the 4th highest grosser of 2015 only behind Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320.5 crores), PRDP (208 crores) and TWMR (152 crores). Dilwale is Shahrukh Khan’s 6th consecutive 100 crore grosser. The movie is Varun Dhawan’s second 100 crore grosser after ABCD 2.

Considering the poor performance on second Friday, we expect Dilwale to continue its struggle in coming days. The movie should collect 150 crores by its second week. Dilwale will surely fall short of 200 crores, a figure achieved by SRK’s last two release Chennai Express (227 crores) and Happy New Year (203 crores).

Despite its average performance, Dilwale is already in the safe zone thanks to Red Chillies marketing and distribution plan. The movie has already recovered big amount through satellite and music rights.

  1. What about the screen count for Friday? It’s lower than BM.Why u r not mentioning that? And what about the protests and the boycott movement through social media, it also had a huge impact on the movie.
