May 2015 has been a good productive month for Bollywood. The success of Gabbar Is Back, Piku and Tanu Weds Manu Returns comes as a big relief as first four months registered a huge loss for the industry.
The debacle of Bombay Velvet proved that the cinemagoers are not ready to accept anything. On the other hand, the success of Piku and TWMR proved that content is still the ultimate king and the cinemagoers are ready to accept movies which have good entertainment factor.
Talking about Welcome 2 Karachi, once again a lot will depend on the content and WOM of the public. The trailer has been well received by the audience as well as critics and it would be interesting to see how this Ashish R. Mohan comedy would shape up on the big screen. Having said that, TWMR is sill going super strong at Box Office and it would be a mammoth task for Welcome 2 Karachi to even give it a substantial competition.
Welcome 2 Karachi can make a decent lifetime if content turned out to be superb and engaging. However, expecting good start a Box Office would be like fooling yourself. Total WOM affair.
Other releases of the week, Ishqedarriyaan, P Se PM Tak, Lateef and I Love Desi would even find it difficult to get an all-India release.
