Bombay HC Gives Wings To Udta Punjab, To Release With Just 1 Cut
Shahid Kapoor in Udta Punjab

As expected, Bombay High Court cleared Udta Punjab with just one cut and three disclaimers. The movie is now most likely to release on the scheduled date i.e. 17 June 2016. The HC ordered Udta Punjab makers to remove the scene where Shahid Kapoor is seen urinating on crowd.

Starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh, Udta Punjab has been in news ever since the CBFC has demanded 90 cuts in the film. The revising committee later brought down the cuts to 13. The filmmakers moved to Bombay High Court complaining about the cuts suggested by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

A division bench comprising Justice S. C. Dharmadhikari and Justice Shalini Phansalkar-Joshi directed the Central Board of Film Certification to not act like a grandmother and clear the movie with ‘A’ certificate.

Well, this comes up as a tight slap on the faces of CBFC members who have been making weird decisions on clearing the movies for quite a long now.
