Bollywood has always copied things up from Hollywood. From story-lines to movie posters, there’s always been something or the other. Even when it comes to fashion, Bollywood doesn’t lag behind in trying out the same dresses worn by Hollywood celebs. But it’s not like they can not pull those dresses off. See for yourself and decide!
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Kristin Chenoweth
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won many hearts when she appeared on the Cannes 2014 red carpet wearing this gold Roberto Cavalli dress. Little did you know that Kristin Chenoweth also wore it to the Oscars 2015.
Alia Bhatt or Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez and Alia Bhatt chose this white and orange Christian Dior dress for the Walk of Fame and for the Vogue awards respectively. JLo looked amazing with the tied hair and the pumps but Alia seemed not at her best in this dress. This dress is not something meant for her.
Deepika Padukone or Kate Hudson
Deepika wore this black Alexander McQueen dress to the Star Screen Awards 2014 and Kate Hudson was also spotted in the same dress at the Golden Globe Awards 2013. Though there was a difference in the form of embellishments at the waist for Kate while DP kept it clean. Her neckline was also less plunging. But it’s very obvious that Kate wore this outfit with more ease.
Ileana D’Cruz or Olga Kurylenko
Bond girl Olga wore a strapless Christian Dior loopy striped gown with golden earrings, pink lips, minimum makeup, a touch of mascara and slick wet pull back hair. On the other hand, Ileana wore it Pro Golf event with black earrings and a high puffed hairstyle.
Jacqueline Fernandez or Elle Macpherson
Jacqueline and Elle rocked the red carpet in this golden Roberto Cavalli gown at two completely different events. IIFA being the one for Jacqueline, Elle wore it to a party hosted by NBC Universal and they both looked completely magnificent.
Kangana Ranaut or Emma Stone
This Burberry green-and-navy-blue ensemble was chosen by both Kangana and Emma. While Kangana wore it to a Women in Film and Television Association India (WIFT) event, Emma was seen wearing this at the Vogue Fashion Fund awards. In my opinion, they both look quite good in this outfit.
Kareena Kapoor Khan or Kim Kardashian
This Tom Ford belted dress was worn by Kareena to a book launch and Kim worn it to Fashion’s Night Out 2012 in Los Angeles. Though they are wearing the same dress, they still look completely different. Bebo’s striking red lips and pumps are a little more impressive than Kim’s nude lips and strapped heels.
Priyanka Chopra or Naomie Harris
Priyanka picked a Alexander McQueen strapless gown for Filmfare Awards 2014 while Naomie wore it to the premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom in 2013. I think it’s safe to say that Priyanka is the clear winner simply because the gown falls better on a body like hers.
Shraddha Kapoor or Emmy Rossum
Shraddha opted for this shimmery dress by Donna Karen for the Star Guild Awards 2014. While it doesn’t seem to do much for her, the same dress when worn by Emmy Rossum at the Met gala looked way better with the dramatic eyes and the earrings.
Sonam Kapoor or Kelly Brooks
Sonam Kapoor attended the Milan Fashion Week 2012 in a flora-onion print Dolce & Gabbana frock with a hair up-do and the red handbag. On the other hand, Kelly Brooks wore this dress with loose curls and a charming smile to support boyfriend Thom Evans modelling in the Love Fashion Show in the same year.
