Bollywood Releases On This Friday | As many as six movies of different genres are releasing this Friday.

It is a battlefield at the box office for small releases on this Friday (May 9, 2014) with as many as six movies are lined up. These small budget and starless films include Hawaa Hawaai, Yeh Hai Bakrapur, Manjunath, Koyelaanchal, Mastram, and Khwaabb.

Hawaa Hawaai

Hawaa Hawaai is produced and directed by Amol Gupte (director of Stanley Ka Dabba and creative director of Taare Zameen Par). The movie deals with in-line skating and is presented under the banner of Fox Star Studios.

The movie stars Saqib Saleem and child actor Partho Gupte (son of Amol Gupte) in main leads.

We have seen many films based on different sports over the years like Lagaan (Cricket), Goal (Football) and Chak De India (Hockey) but this is the first movie to touch skating sport.

Actor Saqib Saleem (Mujhse Fraandship Karoge and Mere Dad Ki Maruti fame) will be seen as a skating coach while Partho Gupte (national award winner for Stanley Ka Dabba) is playing a street boy who sells tea but has a dream of becoming a skating champion. Saquib helps him to fulfill his dream by becoming his coach.

Yeh Hai Bakrapur

Yeh Hai Bakrapur is directed by national award winner Janaki Vishwanathan and produced by Ramesh S Arunachalam. It is presented under the banner of Shruthikkaa Films.

The star cast includes Anshuman JhaAsif BasraSuruchi AulakhFaiz Khan and Yoshika Verma.

The film is a social satire on the belief system in our society. The plot revolves around a goat which is named Shahrukh and it is very adorable to all the villagers.

The movie had been in many controversies before the release as some people had boycotted the film for the use of actor Shahrukh Khan’s name  in the film. Even Salman Khan had spoken against the film. Moreover, PETA had also issued a statement against the makers of the film for the use of goats in the film and mistreating them.

Koyelaanchal 

Koyelaanchal is directed and produced by Ashuu Trikha. The movie is presented under the banner of AMA Entertainment. 

The movie is based on the lives of  coal mafia from the districts of Bihar and Jharkhand. The film explores the culture, problems, issues and moral values of the people residing in Koyelaanchal.

The film stars Vinod Khanna as Saryu Bhan Singh, Suniel Shetty as District Collector Nisheeth Kumar, Vipin as Karua, Rupali, Purva Parag, Brij Gopal, Kannan Arunachalam, Deepraj Rana, Biswanath Basu and Ravi Singh. The star cast also features some actors from the Bengal and Jharkhand film industry along with some theater artists too.

Mastram

Mastram is fictional biography film directed by Akhilesh Jaiswal ho was the screenwriter for films like Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), makes his directorial debut with the film and produced by Sanjeev Singh Pal and Ajay Rai while presented under the banner of Bohra Bros Pvt. Ltd & Jar Pictures.

The film stars Kapil Dubey, Rahul Bagga, and Tara-Alisha Berry. The movie is about a reluctant pornographic writer who aspires to be a litterateur, is inspired by the anonymous author of popular pulp fiction and sex stories in Hindi, only known as Mastram. 

The film also features rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Gujarati Single “Achko Machko” and is also the theme song of the movie’s trailer.

Manjunath

The movie is directed by Sandeep A. Varma and produced by COMO & NFDC (National Film Development Corporation of India) while presented under the banner of Vaicom18 Motion Pictures.

The movie is based on the true life of Manjunath Shanmugam who used to work as Marketing Manager for Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). He was murdered for standing against the corrupt practices done by the petrol pumps in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. The owners of the petrol pump gunned him down when he visited the pump as surprise raid one night in November 2005.

The movie stars Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma, Divya Dutta, Kishore Kadam, Rajesh Khattar and Anjori Alagh in lead roles.

Khwaabb

Khwaabb is a romantic sports drama film directed by Zaid Ali Khan and produced by Moraad Ali Khan under the banner of Bullseye Productions. It features actors Navdip Singh and Simar Motiani in the lead roles. 

The plot of the film revolves around the lives of two athletes: their struggles, their dreams, and their ambitions.
