Bismil Video Song | Shahid in a unique avatar for song Bismil from Haider
Bismil Video Song : – Actor Shahid Kapoor who has already bowled us with his performance in the trailer of Haider, is now all set to bowl us again with the song Bismil. Shahid is seen in a Kashmiri avatar and is dancing differently than the usual Shahid Kapoor we know.
The song is sung in the strong voice of Sukhwinder Singh and the lyrics are composed by ace lyricist Gulzar. Video of the song was shot in front of the Sun Temple in Kashmir and Shahid concludes that even though he is a trained dancer, to dance in Bismil was a challenge for him.
“It is one of the best shot songs of my career. The location, the elements like face paint to depict war situations, have been used in Bismil. Then there are 100 feet tall puppets, which I have never seen in any song before.” says Shahid.
Shahid also describes why Bismil was a challenge to him:
“It was very essential that in Haider my character does not dance like Shahid. He had to have his own body language. His dance and acting had to be different from my usual style. So we had choreographer Sudesh who has done an opera with director Vishal Bhardwaj sir and he is from Norway.”
The song will be shown when Shahid will be going through an emotional patch in the movie Haider.
“The song’s emotion had to reach the audience. Apart from the dance steps, what was important was to get across the character’s angst and feelings to the audience through choreography,” added Shahid.
The song also shows a glimpse of Shahid’s onscreen sister Tabu and his onscreen lady-love Shraddha Kapoor. Both of them have a meaty role in the movie.
Haider is an upcoming Vishal Bharadwaj directorial flick starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor along with Tabu and Kay Kay Menon. The film is inspired from Shakespear’s Hamlet. The movie will release on 2nd October, 2014- clashing with Bang Bang starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.
