A few days back, we informed you that Bhumika Pednekar will star opposite Akshay Kumar in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, a light-hearted comedy drama based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Well, we have some exclusive news on Bhumika Pednekar’s role in the movie. If the insider’s reports are to be believed, then Bhumi will play Akshay Kumar’s wife in the movie. Bhumi made her Bollywood in alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in Dum Laga Ke Haisha. The actress played the role of a newly wedded wife for which she was awarded the Filmfare award for the best female debutant.
Akshay Kumar is currently shooting for Robot 2.0 in the South with Rajinikanth. Once he returns to Mumbai, he’ll start the last schedule of Subhash Kapoor’s Jolly LLB2 with Huma Qureshi. The shooting of TEPK will probably start next month and as per the reports we have, the movie will be shot in one single schedule of around 50 days.
Earlier, Sonakshi Sinha was supposed to play the lead opposite Akshay but she left the project citing dates issues. TEPK is Bhumi’s second film after Dum Laga Ke Haisha. The actress was roped in for Aanand L Rai’s Manmarziyan which currently on hold because of unspecified reasons. Sharing big screen with Akshay Kumar is a big opportunity for Bhumi and we expect her to take full advantage of it. It will be interesting to see the fresh pair of Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pedenekar on the silver screen.
