The movie is directed by Shoojit Sircar (director of Vicky Donar & Madras Cafe) and produced by N.P. Singh, Ronnie Lahiri & Sneha Rajani. It will be distributed by Yash Raj Films.
The film revolves around the father-daughter relationship and their bonding. Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone will be seen as father and daughter respectively while Deepika will be playing the lead character of Piku. It is the second time that Amitabh is playing Deepika’s father. It was in Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan where we have seen them before. Irrfan is playing a male lead opposite Deepika.
The video shows the blossoming love between Irrfan and Deepika. This unconventional Jodi is looking good and the chemistry between the two is to watch out for.
The movie will hit theaters on May 8, 2015
