Mohenjo Daro director Ashutosh Gowariker expects both Mohenjo Daro and Rustom to be superhits.
Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro and Akshay Kumar’s Rustom will be clashing at the Box Office as they are releasing on the same date i.e. 12th August. It is going to be a clash worth waiting for but according to Ashutosh Gowariker, the director of Mohenjo Daro, both Mohenjo Daro and Rustom should be superhits.
Ashutosh was recently asked whether he is concerned about the clash between the movies. He said “The thought did come to our mind that the films will clash and box office will get affected, but then even ‘Sholay’ and ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ released on same date and ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ was a bigger hit because its cost of recovery was higher. “‘Lagaan’ and ‘Gaddar’ had released on the same date too. So, I feel ‘Mohenjo Daro’ should also work and ‘Rustom’ should also work. Both the films should be superhits.”
Mohenjo Daro is an epic adventure-romance, set in the ancient city of Mohenjo-daro in the era of the Indus Valley civilization, while Rustom is based on famous Nanavati case in which a navy officer was tried for killing his wife’s lover. Ashutosh has always been more inclined to period dramas. The reason behind it according to him is-“I have often asked this question to myself and I realised that I get excited by untold stories. It excites me to get into that time. I used to fail in history. I never used to remember dates, but the idea of telling untold stories inspired me.”
That sounds fair enough to us! But the bigger question is which movie will fare well in Mohenjo Daro v/s Rustom? Tell us what you feel about this below in the comments section.
