Two movies of completely different genres were released on Friday. On one hand, there was Abhishek Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor starer All Is Well – a family drama revolving around the sweet and sour relationship of a father with his son while on other hand we there was a hard-hitting biopic drama Manjhi – The Mountain Man starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhike Apte.
Talking about the reviews, All is Well is more or less thrashed by each and every critic. The movie has nothing new to offer. Manjhi – The Mountain Man on other hand received rave reviews from the critics. The movie was loved by critics especially Nawazuddin’s performance.
On Box Office front, All is Well was released on almost double the screens as compared to Manjhi. The movie collected around 11.8 crores in its first weekend which is quite low considering Umesh Shukla’s last movie Oh My God! has a lifetime collection of 83 crores. Manjhi showed decent growth throughout the weekend and collected 6.8 crores. It’s really disturbing to say hat brilliant movies like Manjhi are not getting decent Box Office numbers.
