Aamir Khan’s PK poster in trouble : Nude poster has stirred lot of controversies from the day he launched it on twitter. Plenty of jokes have been already made on the poster and now looks like there is more trouble.
A standee of PK poster was removed at Gaitey Theater, Bandra when a large group of women protested against it and even lodged a police complaint. The women group said the picture is inappropriate to be displayed at public places. The poster was soon removed by the manager of Gaitey as he didn’t want more troubles.
The story doesn’t end here. A lawyer from Kanpur has filed a case against Vidhoo Vinod Chopra and Raju Hirani-the filmmakers of PK. The lawyer says, that the poster has high obscenity and it hurt his sentiments. “When I received a copy of the newspaper I was shocked with the poster. Newspaper reaches crores of people, including children and the elderly.” said the lawyer.
The case has been filed under section 292 of the IPC, for obscenity.
The poster shows Aamir Khan flaunting his nude and well chiseled body, covering his modesty with and old transistor standing at a railway track. Even though, many celebs have been applauding Aamir for his movie stint, critics have slammed Aamir for the obscene image.
The hearing of the case filed by the lawyer is held in Kanpur today. Aamir has already defended himself saying the movie poster is a ‘key art’ and not for publicity.
Aamir said, “When you will watch the film then only you will be able to understand the idea behind (the poster). But I would just like to say that the kind of filmmaker, the kind of writer Rajkumar is, he always tries to present the things, his thinking, in a unique way and that’s why I am his huge fan.”
He also adds, “In the poster of Taare Zameen Par, the child (actor Darsheel Safary) is sitting in the front on the school bench and I am sitting behind him. So it is a kind of key art…the image that tells you much about the story and so is the poster of PK. This is not for publicity, not for us at least. In fact, this poster imbibes all the elements of the film.”
The actor feels, once the movie will be watched, the movie poster will make sense.
PK also stars Anushka Sharma, Ssushant Singh Rajput and Boman Irani. It will be Christmas release and will release on 19th December, 2014.
