The 63rd National Film Awards 2016 are back to honour the best of Indian cinema. The winners have just been announced. Here are the winners of the four main categories.

These is no stopping Amitabh Bachchan as the legendary actor has won the best actor award for his power-packed performance in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku. Kangana Ranaut may not have won big in other award function but the talented actress has impressed the national awards jury as she walks away with the best actress award. Sanjay Leela Bhansali was the best director of 2016 and his impeccable direction was applauded at national awards too. The filmmaker walks away with the best director award for Bajirao Mastani. The award for the best movie of the year goes to SS Rajamauli’s magnum opus Baahubali. Here is the complete list of winners:-

Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film Of A Director: Neeraj Ghaywan for Masaan

Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment: Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Best Choreography: Remo D’Souza for Deewani Mastani song in Bajirao Mastani

Best Female Playback Singer: Monali Thakur for Moh Moh Ke Dhage

Best Cinematography: Sudeep Chatterjee, Bajirao Mastani

Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration: Nanak Shah Fakir

Best Screenplay Writer (Original): Juhi Chaturvedi (Piku) and Himanshu Sharma (Tanu Weds Manu Returns)

Best Screenplay – Dialogues: Juhi Chaturvedi (Piku) and Himanshu Sharma (Tanu Weds Manu Returns)

This is third national award for Kangana Ranaut after Fashion (Best Supporting Actress) and Queen (Best Actress).

This is fourth best actor national film award for Amitabh Bachchan after Agneepath (1990), Black (2005) and Paa (2009).
