10 Facts you didn't know about Aishwarya's comeback movie
Irrfan and Aishwarya in Jazbaa

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is ready to set the big screen on fire after an interval of five years with Sanjay Gupta’s “Jazbaa”, an action-drama film. The actress was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish in 2010. Though she had been busy being a mom for her beloved Aaradhya, she was missed thoroughly by her fans. Hopefully “Jazbaa” makes up for all the time lost in missing Aishwarya. For now, we have made a list of 10 facts you must know about “Jazbaa”

1. First look

The first look was launched publicly on May 19, 2015. The image shows Aishwarya as a distraught woman displaying grit and resolution. Director Sanjay Gupta released the poster showing Rai in the dust and grime of the city with distress on her face, but her body language says she’s a fighter.

2. Storyline
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the main lead here, she will essay the role of a lawyer defending a death row convict. Irrfan Khan is cast in a role of a suspended cop while Shabana Azmi will be playing the role of a mother. Chandan Roy Sanyal plays the main antagonist in the film. Siddhanth Kapoor will be essaying the role of a troubled individual undergoing psychiatric treatment.

3. Jazbaa is a remake of a South Korean film, Seven Days
We hear that Jazbaa is the Bollywood remake of the South Korean film Seven Days which was released in 2007. It is being said that the story of Seven Days too had a lawyer as the protagonist, who is on a mission to save her kidnapped daughter, by fighting a case for an alleged criminal who is on a death row for committing heinous crimes like rape and murder and she has only seven days for the trial. Korean remakes haven’t done that great in Bollywood till now, the latest disaster being Alone but I am hoping for Aishwarya to change that with Jazbaa!

4. The Director
Known for directing entertainers like Kaante, Zinda and Shootout At Lokhandwala, Sanjay Gupta is collaborating with Aishwarya for the first time. He has already set the bar high with great action movies in the past, so we are expecting Jazbaa to be one of his best works.

5. A Strong Cast
Apart from our beloved Aishwarya, the film will also star Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff and Chandan Roy Suyal. Simply hearing all these names together have raised our expectations a lot.

7. A Court Worth Rs 80 Lakh!
Director Sanjay Gupta reportedly spent Rs 80 lakh to recreate the Bombay High Court Jazbaa. Nadeem Shah, one of the assistant directors of the films says, “The courtroom sequences are crucial for the film and we have been preparing for it for four months now. The original plan was to shoot at the Bombay High Court but we realised that it wasn’t a safe option. Aishwarya’s presence would have attracted a lot of crowd and we would have had to arrange for extra security. Also, getting permission to shoot at the court involves a long procedure. Therefore we decided to recreate the court at Film City.”
Wow!!!

8. Irrfan wasn’t originally in the movie!

Though Irrfan plays a pivotal role in the film along with Aishwarya, but it looks like Khan was not Gupta’s first choice for the lead role. Apparently, Gupta had signed “Dhoom” actor John Abraham for the male lead role but due to Bachchan bahu, he had to drop Abraham. “John was supposed to co-produce the film and so Sanjay Gupta took him as the lead, but apparently Aishwarya wasn’t happy with John being in the lead. So Sanjay decided to replace John and rope Irrfan in the film,” a source informed.

9. Spiro Razatos as the action director
Gupta has roped in ace Hollywood action director Spiro Razatos to helm the action sequences. Spiro has been associated as an action director in Hollywood biggies like Back To the Future, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Expendables. In Bollywood, he has worked on films like Kick, Ra.One and Kambakkht Ishq. We can definitely expect some muscle-wrecking action!

10. We’ll see a lot more of Aish post Jazbaa
“You will see me more often now,” said the actress when asked about her reason for not doing films for so long. She went on to say she never felt the gap while working in Jazbaa because of the wonderful cast. After Jazbaa, we will be seeing her in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and P Vasu’s upcoming untitled multilingual, which will feature the former beauty queen as a Kalari fighter.

Well, we think you have a loads of information about ‘Jazbaa‘ now. The trailer of the movie will be out today. Are you excited?
